reQall

The memory and task list application, reQall, announced upgrades and a Pro version! The application can be used on iPhone and Blackberry, on the web, using Google Chat and even incorporates visual aids to help you manage your tasks and life lists. I have found it completely useful and have been testing functionality, usability and integration in parallel with applications such as Remember The Milk, Jott and Evernote. The free services alone provide substantial features for anyone willing to dump their task list into an application and be relentless at keeping up with their life.

DubMeNow Brings The Virtual Business Card

Posted by Gripfactor | Mobile Technology, Social Applications | Monday 23 February 2009 4:05 am

DubMeNow

A new way to do business cards is using the mobile application DubMeNow. You can hand out your business card in the traditional way or you can think green and go paperless. The idea behind DubMeNow is to collect and immediately use your information on the go and always in sync. If you are at a meeting, social gathering, conference or any event you can use your mobile phone to make contact with a new person by entering the information in your mobile phone. This keeps the moment social and provides immediate follow-up because an email is sent to the individual requesting them to join you on DubMeNow, which also provides a way to contact you in the near future.

The latest release of DubMeNow, version 1.06, also adds some new features that are attractive to the social media savvy where you can send out a message to microblogging service Twitter when you have received your contact’s information. This may be a genius way to promote that you both use the application and have others interested in sharing with you for business. The mobile application is now available on all mobile phones including the iPhone and Blackberry. The iPhone version has been added to the iPhone application store and is ready for immediate download! Another great business use is for CRM applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SugarCRM and Seibel. A few upcoming integrations include Linkedin which DubMeNow has partnered with, as well as, Google, Microsoft, and RIM.

So what are you waiting for, go DubMeNow!

DubMeNow Launches on All Mobile Phones

The Best Way to Exchange and Keep Contact Information Current and Up-to-Date

Washington, DC—DubMeNow, the patent-pending technology that allows you to instantly exchange (via text or email) contact information (email, phone, company, address, title, etc.) from mobile phone to mobile phone, is now available on all US based phones. DUB loads contact data directly into the user’s mobile address book and automatically updates their address book whenever the contact’s information changes.

DUB eliminates the need to swap, save, enter or update any more business card data. You can also ‘tag’ or note information about the contact and see when and where you met on Google Maps. New features include:

  • DUB ID –your unique username or identifier allowing you to exchange information without having to give out your mobile number or email address.
  • Group DUB – the ability to exchange contact information with multiple people at once during a meeting, conference, seminar or other large group gathering.
  • Google Maps – Never forget where you met someone again – this feature loads the location and address where the invite took place into your contact’s information.
  • CRM Integration — Dub now sync’s with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SugarCRM and Siebel.
  • Twitter – DUB invites displayed on Twitter.

“Our goal was to develop a tool that would allow people to easily keep track of their business and personal contacts,” said Manoj Ramnani, Founder and CEO of DubMeNow. “We developed a better way to communicate, network and exchange contact information – eliminating the need to keep track of business cards and then ultimately do something with them.”

DubMeNow partnered with Microsoft, Google, Salesforce.com, RIM and LinkedIn on the technology.

“DUB is a tremendous tool and we’re excited to have it on Windows Mobile and Microsoft Dynamics CRM platforms. I was impressed with how easily DUB integrated into our environments” said Dave Drach, Managing Director of Microsoft’s Emerging Business Team.

How does DUB work?

  • Using the DUB application on your mobile phone, simply invite the contact using their email, mobile number or DUB ID. Upon acceptance, your contact data loads directly into their address book and vice versa. DUB syncs with Outlook and CRM applications like Salesforce and Siebel.
  • The contact data is always kept current. Any changes you make to your DUB card (email, phone, job, address, etc.) are automatically updated to your DUB contacts and any changes your DUB contacts make are instantly updated to your address book. DUB contacts are simply always current.

A feature rich version of DUB is currently available on all smart phones, including BlackBerry, GPhone, iPhone and Windows Mobile. Any mobile phone with text messaging can also use DUB via text messaging.

Ashton Kutcher And A Qik Shot of Social Media

Posted by Gripfactor | Mobile Technology, Social Applications, Social Media | Sunday 22 February 2009 3:20 am

Ashton Kutcher decided to share his video of testing an updated version of Qik from his mobile phone. You can hear the sound from TweetDeck , an application used for Twitter, in the background as he films wife Demi Moore, who is also at her Mac using Twitter. The brilliance in this is the free plug for Qik.com. No Paparazzi, no reporters, no stalkers. Just two people doing what the rest of us do. They are fun to follow on Twitter!

Going Mobile With Google Spreadsheets

Posted by Gripfactor | Mobile Technology, Technology | Sunday 15 February 2009 8:00 pm

Google has opened the gates to access and use Google Docs spreadsheets via a mobile device. This is a great feature that opens the possibilities of maintaining your personal finances, shopping lists/comparisons, work on the go, or maybe even manage your guest list for an event using the forms feature (great for event promoters and planners). It works for both Google and Google Apps accounts.

I was initially excited and thought I would give it a test run, however, somehow the Blackberry was left in the cold. I can say at least T-Mobile is on the map with the G1 and probably because its a Google device, but as always, the ever popular iPhone makes the list. Also included is the Nokia S60 and iPod touch. I hope they get this going for the Blackberry users soon.
